Launching Kinma Valley with a brand people could imagine themselves living in, long before the first home was built.

Creating a destination starts well before construction begins.
South East Queensland's growth corridor was becoming increasingly competitive.
Originally known internally as Pine Valley, the community needed more than a new name. It needed a story capable of standing apart in a market crowded with similar masterplanned communities competing for attention.
The audience was discerning second-home buyers looking for lifestyle as much as location.
The process began on site.
Campfire-style workshops brought together urban designers, architects, communications specialists and marketers to shape the identity from the ground up. Rather than developing the brand in isolation, every discipline contributed to defining what the future community should feel like.
This collaborative process led to the creation of Kinma Valley — a name and narrative inspired by connection to place rather than property marketing conventions.
Illustrator Lillian Darmono created a series of distinctive hand-drawn illustrations that gave the community warmth, personality and immediate recognition. They became central to the visual identity, helping people imagine a lifestyle before the first streets or homes existed.
Kinma Valley launched with a distinctive identity that stood apart in one of Australia's fastest-growing development corridors.
The project demonstrated the power of placemaking when branding begins with place, people and story — not simply advertising.
